Residents bringing own furniture?

We will try and accommodate residents’ personal furniture. This could be discussed with the Facility Manager.

Can my family and friends visit?

Family and friends are welcome to visit. We encourage families to be involved in all aspects of the residents’ care and activities. Changes and limitations may apply during special circumstances such as Covid restrictions.

Can my pets come with me?

Yes, depending on the kind of pet. This could be discussed with the Facility Manager.

Will someone help me with my medication?

Yes, we have Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants who are competent to assist with medication.

Will I have my own bathroom

We have 24 out of 35 rooms that have direct access to an en suite.

Is alcohol permitted?

Alcohol consumption is allowed in moderation and the medication that the resident may have.

Will I have my own phone in my room?

The majority of our rooms have jackpoints. We also have a seperate mobile phone and two cordless (tele) phones that can be used for personal calls anywhere in the facility.

Will my room have heating?

Most rooms will have underfloor heating or some kind of heating device.

Am I allowed to smoke?

We have a No Smoking policy for all our buildings however, there is a designated smoking area available to residents.

Do you have Palliative care?

We do provide palliative care in conjunction with Waipuna Hospice. We like to keep our residents familiar with their surroundings.

Do you provide respite care?

We have one dedicated room used for respite care, and other rooms are used for respite care as available.

Am I able to come for a short period of time?

Depending on the room’s availability, we may be able to accommodate short stays.
